Originally from South Carolina, Alyssia discovered her love of the ocean when she was in college. After trying her hand at phytoplankton research and water quality, she found her place in aquaculture.

After interning with Minorities in Aquaculture for 2 years during undergrad, she came back for year 3 with Walrus and Carpenter before graduating into a full-time farmhand position. Her favorite part of being on the farm is the satisfaction of putting a day of hard work to nurture fresh and sustainable seafood!
